A WSSI (Weekly Sales, Stock & Intake) is a tool used in most large retailers to help forecast sales, stock, tell you how much to buy and when. By inputting forecasted sales by week, along with any planned discounts you can work out how much stock to buy and when to buyit.
It will help you maximise sales and profit, book the right stock at the right time and streamline cashflow. It's used for 'planning' before a period starts and 'trading' during a season.
Start using it BEFORE you start to buy stock for a season. WSSIs can be used at all levels of your product hierarchy, the more granular you go the more benefits you'll find. However, small businesses often only use one WSSI for the total Company due to time constraints.
Spreadsheets like this work well for smaller retailers, but as you become larger you will benefit from weav's systemised WSSI.
The below link is the most simple version of a spreadsheet WSSI. Weav sytemised WSSIs allow automation, a far greater number of metrics and 'rolling up' WSSIs through product hierarchies. We also provide other essential tools for retailers.
